Lake County Virtual School will be closed November 23 to November 27.  Students may continue to work in their online courses.  However, please note that work may be ungraded and teachers may not be available until we return on November 30.  We hope that you all have a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving break. 

Eligibility and Enrollment


ELIGIBILITY-Students who enroll in district virtual instruction programs (No. 7023), district virtual course offerings (No. 7006 must meet at least one of the following criteria specified in Section 1002.455(2), FS.  Determine whether the student in our test selection has met eligibility requirements as noted below:                         
         1.  The student spent the prior school year in attendance at a public school in the State and was enrolled and reported by a school district for funding during October and February for purposes of the FEFP surveys.                                                                                 

           2.  The student is a dependent child of a member of the United States Armed Forces who was transferred within the last 12 months to this State from another state or from a foreign country pursuant to a permanent change of station order. 

           3.  The student was enrolled during the prior school year in a virtual instruction program under
Section 1002.45, FS;  or a full-time Florida Virtual School Program under Section 1002.37(8)(a), FS.                                                                                                
           4.  The student has a sibling who is currently enrolled in a virtual instruction program and the sibling was enrolled in that program at the end of the prior school year.

           5.  The student was eligible to enter kindergarten or first grade.    

           6.  The student is eligible to enter grades 2 through 5 and is enrolled full time in a school district virtual instruction program, virtual charter school.

Lake County Virtual School offers access to high quality, technology-based education. Lake County Virtual courses may be used to satisfy graduation requirements, make up credit, or accelerate a program of study.

Students receive individualized instruction utilizing the internet, e-mail, telephone, instant messaging, online collaboration, and face-to-face teacher forums. The online format allows flexibility of time, and location while promoting the skills, attitude and self discipline necessary to succeed in the 21st century.  Lake County Virtual School provides a rigorous curriculum that will prepare every student for college and career.

All students and parents of students considering enrolling in Lake County Virtual should read the Lake County Virtual School Curriculum Guide and Handbook that can be accessed here . Valuable information including enrollment requirements, requirements to remain enrolled, a typical day in virtual school and other vital information is included.  Parents and students will have to attend an orientation meeting along with signing the student/parent acknowledgment form as a requirement of enrollment.

  • SAC Meeting

  • Winter 2015 Testing

    We will be using our new computer lab for testing this winter.  We have several tests coming up soon for our full time students.  The FSA EOC Exam for Algebra 1 will be Dec. 11 and 14, the FSA EOC Exam for Algebra 2 will be Dec. 7 and 9, and the EOC Exam for Civics will be on Dec. 10. The winter administration for these exams is for students that will be completing their courses this semester or are in need of a retake exam.  Please call 352-483-4263 if you have any questions regarding these tests.

  • SPAR Reports

    The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) requires that school districts provide parents with an annual school status report, known as the School Public Accountability Reports (SPARs).  The reports can be accessed by using the link provided above.

  • Full Time Enrollment
    Registration for students wishing to enroll as a full-time student for the spring 2016 semester will start Nov. 30 and will end Dec. 17.  All students and parents of students who are new to full-time Lake County Virtual School must plan to attend one of our orientation sessions.  Part-time students will also be able to gather much needed information at these sessions and are welcome, but not required to attend.  Please check our calendar for times and places and call us at 352-483-4260 to reserve your spot.
