In an effort to align the Summer Reading Assignment with the current standards, this year students will be required to read three nonfiction articles. With each article, the student will be required to complete steps to enhance their knowledge using informational text strategies. These articles will appear on this website throughout the summer (one in June, one in July and one in August). This means that students will have one assignment to complete each month. All assignments will be due on September 4, 2015. Please note: students have one month to complete each article assignment. Students will not have access to all three articles at one time. These assignments are for current students only. Incoming 6th graders are NOT required to complete these assignments.
