Before leaving, the student must be signed out by an authorized person. NO ONE, INCLUDING BROTHERS AND SISTERS, MAY CHECK A STUDENT OUT OF SCHOOL WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE PARENT OR GUARDIAN. Persons checking students out MUST be listed on the registration card, MUST sign the student out with his/her signature in the main office, and may be asked to furnish identification 18 years or older. If the person is unknown to the attendance and/or office staff, picture identification must be shown before authorization will be given.

Students who must leave during the school day for appointments will be called to the main office to checkout when the parent/guardian arrives. If the student returns before the end of the school day, he/she should report to the main office to get a note to return to class. Students who return to school the following day need to bring a note for the periods or days missed.

Should a student be injured or become ill at school, it is extremely important that the parents are contacted immediately. Parents should be sure that the school always has accurate phone numbers to use in case of an emergency. Doctors may not administer to a student without parental permission, so it is vital that the school have emergency numbers where the parents can be reached.
