  • Welcome Back Canes

Welcome back Canes. Let me be the first to welcome you to Cane Country! Whether you are a returning student or coming to Mount Dora High School for the first time, we are excited to have you here. I trust that you have had a wonderful summer break full of laughter, friendship and great adventures. As you arrive on campus you will see familiar faces. Our Administrative team remains the same with Mr. Kyle Bracewell, Mr. Herman Durias and Ms. Marlene Straughan as your Assistant Principals. Officer Smith of the Mount Dora Police Department has been reappointed as our School Resource Officer again this year. As you see new faces, whether they be students, faculty or staff, please welcome and show them our Hurricane Pride. We all look forward to working with our students and their parents to see that each student at MDHS not only achieves but strives for excellence in everything they do. We encourage you to take the opportunity to become involved in the various activities, clubs and sports offered at MDHS. Parents, please take an active role in your student’s education. Lake County has an online program in Skyward that you can monitor your student’s progress and success throughout the school year. If you are not familiar with this online program, please contact the guidance office and they will be happy to walk you through the set up process. My sincerest thanks goes to our students, parents, faculty, staff and the community of Mount Dora for the wonderful first year I experienced as your Principal of Mount Dora High School. The Administrators, faculty and staff have worked hard over the summer getting ready for the 2015/2016 school year. We look forward to your return to Cane Country and having a great year. Sincerely, Dr. Rhonda Boone
