Disruptive high winds are no longer expected in Lake County from the remnants of former tropical storm Erika. Therefore, our schools and district offices will be open on Monday. Heavy rain is still in the forecast, and we expect wet roads and traffic delays. Potential flooding in low-lying areas is a concern as well. We appreciate the importance of parental decision making in times of inclement weather. Teachers are asked to please work with students who are absent because of the weather so they can make up any missed assignments. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
We are continuing to monitor Tropical Storm Erika as we plan for possible impact from the storm. The storm is erratic and difficult to predict. Weather experts expect to have a better idea of the potential impact on Central Florida once the storm passes over Hispaniola, like tomorrow morning. So far, there have not been any changes to our regular school schedule. Over the weekend, please check our school website and social media page for updates, and look for a call-out message about any decisions involving school operations for next week. In the meantime, please consider making personal preparations for yourself and your family. To find out what should go into a disaster supply kit, visit www.ready.gov. We have had a great opening to our 2015-16 school year! Parents, please don't forget to fill out the forms that were sent home with your child. Once complete, please return to your child's teacher. Also, please make sure to keep your child's teacher informed as to how your child is going home each day. Thank you and Welcome Back! It is a great school year!
Minneola Elementary Charter School’s mobile app provides students, parents/guardians and community with up-to-the-minute School details.
