Celebrating Superintendent Susan Moxley
Reception highlights 32-year career in education
The reception on Tuesday, March 7, was organized by the Educational Foundation of Lake County and included several presentations from employees, former students, and government officials; a proclamation from the office of Rep. Larry Metz, and performances from school band and choral groups.
Dr. Moxley expressed pride not only in leading the district of 43,000 students and more than 5,000 employees, but also in being a product of one of its schools – Eustis High.
She will transition into the role of Superintendent Emeritus on March 11. As such, she will lead an effort to refine the district’s standard operating procedures, close out reports on several major grants and assist new Superintendent Diane Kornegay as needed.
Dr. Moxley will retire at the end of June.
