Donning hats displayed with robust vocabulary words, students at Grassy Lake and Cypress Ridge elementary schools recently celebrated the power of language at their school’s vocabulary hat parade.
Students and staff created hats to illustrate robust vocabulary words. Descriptive words, such as courageous and miscellaneous, helped spark creativity with the hat designs.
“This was an opportunity for the students to express their creativity as well as their understanding of the chosen vocabulary word,” said Doreathe Cole, Principal at Grassy Lake Elementary.
According to school officials, the vocabulary hat parade event gives students the opportunity to share their vocabulary knowledge with other students. The event also promotes parental involvement, with families being invited so that students can share their hats with the entire community.
