Take Stock in Children of Lake & Sumter Counties receives donation from TD Charitable Foundation

Take Stock in Children of Lake & Sumter Counties recently received a $2,500 donation from the TD Charitable Foundation, funded by TD Bank, as part of the bank’s commitment to giving back to the community.

Dr. Susan Moxley, Superintendent of Lake County Schools Take Stock in Children of Lake & Sumter Counties, a program of the Educational Foundation of Lake County, identifies financially at-risk students in the eighth grade, provides them with a mentor and an advocate and then rewards them at high school graduation with a college tuition scholarship. The funds from the TD Charitable Foundation will be used towards the purchase of a 2-Year Florida College Plan Tuition Scholarship for a student in Lake County.

“This is the second year in row that the TD Charitable Foundation has supported the Take Stock in Children scholarship program and we are very excited about the relationship we have built with representatives from their organization” said Bryan Hoover, Program Manager for Take Stock.

A staunch commitment to active involvement in the local community is a vital element of the TD Bank philosophy. TD Bank and the TD Charitable Foundation provide support to affordable housing, financial literacy and education, and environmental initiatives, many of which focus on improving the welfare of children and families.
