Investiture reception and ceremony for School Board members set for Nov. 20

The Educational Foundation of Lake County is hosting an investiture reception and ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 20, when the Lake County School District will welcome one new School Board member — Bill Mathias of District 1 — and congratulate two reelected School Board members — Rosanne Brandeburg of District 2 and Debbie Stivender of District 4.

School Board members The 5:30 p.m. reception and 6 p.m. investiture ceremony will take place at the Lake County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St. in Tavares.

“I am honored to represent the citizens of Lake County and humbly appreciate the voters’ confidence and support in my election," said School Board Member-elect Bill Mathias who is replacing School Board Member Jim Miller in District 1. “We have a great opportunity to positively transform our school system and I am eager to get started.”

School Board Chairman Rosanne Brandeburg who was elected for a second term added, “I look forward to continuing to work with the Board, Dr. Moxley, the teachers, administrators and support staff to build upon making Lake County Schools a model for teaching and learning. We have many challenges and opportunities and I want to work with the community and our legislators to help us find ways to help our children succeed.”

School Board Member Debbie Stivender who was also elected for a second term said, “I am humbled and honored to continue to serve the students, parents, teachers, administration, and community as a whole. Many changes have occurred in my first four years, and I look forward to continuing to partner with the community and our district staff to make even greater strides over the next four years! Our many challenges define who we are as a district, and I will continue to fight for what is best for the Lake County School District.”
