Lake Minneola High’s JV boys basketball team raises funds in local charity’s 5K

In an attempt support the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation (GCCF) and to get the Lake Minneola High School’s JV basketball team in shape, Coach Matt Mobley entered his players in the GCCF’s 3rd Annual 5K Run.

Lake Minneola High’s JV boys basketball team Each player raised their $20 entry fee through sponsors and individual donors from the community. In fact, each player raised more than their $20 entry fee and the 13 runners donated a total of $479.

“Each player finished the run in good condition, contributed to an important cause, and experienced the value of being part of a community,” said Coach Mobley. “The players have already asked to participate in the run next year.”

Student athletes who ran in the 5K were: Caleb Bright, Maverick Mora, Selvin Castro, Shamari Williams, Brenton Campbell, Joseph Bauldree, Kenton Johnson, Andrew Grant, David Olson, Carlon Holder, Jason Cruz, Darius Wallace and Gabriel Cespedes.
