Carver Middle’s Jr. Beta Club competes at state convention

Carver Middle School’s Jr. Beta Club went to the National Jr. Beta Club State Convention held at the Swan & Dolphin Hotel in Walt Disney World on Dec. 3 and 4.

They competed in academic competition in all the core subjects. They also had entries in special talent, speech, technology and arts & crafts.

This year, Joe Northcott presided over the meetings as the State Secretary. Bishon Roberts ran for a state office and received enough votes to become State Vice President of Jr. Beta. This honor will allow him to attend the Broyhill Leadership Camp this summer in North Carolina.

Carver Middle School had 21 students competing. The students learned 21st century skills competing and mixing with 1,600 Jr. Betas from around the state.
