Message from Dr. Susan Moxley, Superintendent of Schools

Good evening parents. I want to take this moment to reassure you that the staff and administrators of Lake County Schools are remaining vigilant and watchful to ensure our schools are safe.

Our District has taken steps to continue to keep our students safe:

·         First all schools have reviewed our safety and security procedures and put additional measures in place.

·         Second, with the cooperation and support from our Sheriff and municipal law enforcement agencies, they have increased police protection on and around our campuses.

·         Third, we have heightened staff supervision at our schools with District officials assisting with this presence.

·         Finally, our guidance staff is available to students, parents and staff who may need this service.

We are aware of rumors that are circulating regarding the safety of our schools. With the cooperation of the Sheriff’s Office we are monitoring social media to dispel these rumors as quickly as possible.

I have requested all schools to increase the monitoring of access through single points of entry and check-in and out procedures. I appreciate your continued support and patience. We know we have great students in Lake County Schools, and we are proud of all of them. Please know you can trust us to take the necessary precautions to ensure the safety of our children.
