The cheers at Eustis High School today were loud and boisterous as the campus welcomed home its state championship cheerleading squad.
Eustis High School competed in the Florida High School Athletic Association Competitive Cheerleading Championship on Thursday evening at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee. Competing in the 1A Large Co-Ed finals, Eustis High captured the state title.
“I’m so proud to say we brought home the State Championship for our school, this program, and this community,” said Coach Sarah Rimes. “Through all our many challenges and hardships this year these kids put everything they had out on the floor and came away with what they have rightfully earned. I cannot thank all of you enough for helping us out in so many ways. This has been a lifelong dream of mine and Coach Beth Bonadonna. As both of us are Eustis High Alumni and former cheerleaders for Eustis, this win has a little bit deeper meaning.”
Team members include: Jessica Hoffman, Ashley Higgins, Niesha Weeks, Alexis Allen, Hayley Carroll, Jaliah Maple, Brittany Vaughn, Victoria Grable, Sarah Jordan, Jordan Small, Lauren Levingston, Hannah Conte, Baylie Treves, Emma Rodriguez, Sue Wilson, Kalie Brecklin, Hannah Means, Dustin Carson, Ben Hilliard, Peter Gunterman and Hunter Labarga.
