The Lake County School Board is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 10:30 a.m. for the District’s new Employee Health & Wellness Center, located at 1908 Center St. in Leesburg.
The new facility is a no-cost alternative for employees, retirees and dependents that are covered by the District’s health insurance plan. Lake County Schools Employee Health & Wellness Center does not replace the District’s health insurance of Blue Cross & Blue Shield, but provides another option for employees.
Lake County Schools previously opened Employee Health & Wellness Centers in Eustis in 2011 and in Clermont in 2012. The centers focus on wellness initiatives, including providing employee’s health risk assessments, which is a short health examination that indicates a patient’s risk for certain diseases and medical conditions. It helps an individual understand where he or she should take action to improve his or her health. Other services available at the centers include primary care type services, including chronic disease management, medications, lab work and health & nutrition coaching.
The centers are staffed by a physician and other supporting medical staff. The Lake County School Board approved a contract with CareHere Crowne to provide medical services at the health & wellness centers.
The public is invited to the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Lake County Schools Employee Health & Wellness Center. After the ceremony, the public is invited to tour the new modular building for the employee wellness & health center, which was built in Leesburg by Southeast Modular Manufacturing.
