To make up the the instructional hours missed because of Hurricane Irma, we are canceling early release on Dec. 18, Dec. 19, Dec. 20, May 22, May 23 and May 24 to equal six hours or one instructional day. Additionally, classes will be held on March 30, formerly a non-student day. With the Florida Department of Education Commissioner's decision to waive two days and the extra instructional time the district had built into the student calendar, Lake County students do not need to make up any additional hours.
East Ridge Middle School's grade jumped from a “C” last year to an “A” this year. “We are overjoyed by the success!” East Ridge Middle School Principal Stephanie Mayuski said shortly after learning of the grade. “It is a true testimony of the teamwork of all, including teachers, students, staff and families. Our teachers are committed to providing a high level of instruction and engaging lessons for our hard-working students. I am so proud of everyone’s hard work and as always, it’s a great day to be a Spartan!”
