Today's Choice for Tomorrow's Future

When Lake County Schools established a grab-and-go feeding plan for students who spent the last several weeks of the school year doing distance learning from home, one of the requirements was that students had to be present to receive the meals. Parents were not allowed to pick up meals for students in their absence.

For summer, that requirement is changing.

When parents pick up meals they can request a “parent meal pickup form", they may also download it from the link above. Once they complete the form, return it, and get it approved by the district’s Food Services office, they will receive a card to place in the front window of their car. The card will indicate the parent’s name and the number of meals they are approved to receive without having their children present.

These registered parents will be listed on a roster at their designated school. Their names will be checked off when they pick up meals from that school. They will not be required to have their children with them.

Parents who do not have an approved card, however, must have the children in the car with them to receive meals.

Meals can be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The following locations will continue as distribution sites this summer:

  • Astatula

  • Cypress Ridge

  • Eustis Heights
