Title I - 

Title I is part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. This act provides federal funds through the Florida Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with high percentages of low–income children to help ensure that all children meet challenging State academic content and student academic achievement standards.
 

Title I is a division under the Chief Academic Officer. The Title I Department provides technical assistance, resources, and program monitoring of Title I SCHOOLS to ensure that all children have an opportunity to obtain a high quality education and to achieve proficiency on high academic standards.         

Technical Assistance The Title I administration and Program Specialists interpret State and federal law and provide guidelines for implementing Title I programs, address specific questions and concerns regarding Title I programs, and provide information and assistance in implementing various requirements and guidelines. 

Resources - The department provides school based instructional and parent involvement positions for Title I schools and district level positions in other departments to ensure effective program implementation. Regional planning meetings and professional development in areas related to the implementation of Title I programs are also provided.  

Monitoring The department regularly monitors Title I programs at the school level to ensure compliance with regulations as well as to assure the quality of the program being utilized with at-risk populations.

Title III (ELL) & ESOL - 

It is our goal to promote second language acquisition and academic achievement for English Language Learners. 

ELL (English Language Learners)  & ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) 

Our support programs promotes cultural awareness, community involvement, and quality services through best practices for English language learners.  We strive to provide support to students, families, personnel, teachers, and administrators of Lake County Schools. 

Students in need of language acquisition or who qualify as migrant students but attend private schools may receive assistance in these areas whether or not they live in an eligible Title I school zone.
