Today's Choice for Tomorrow's Future

Home Education

Home Education is a parent-directed educational option that satisfies the requirement for regular school attendance. Upon establishing and maintaining a home education program for your child in our state, the parent/guardian will be governed by Florida Statute 1002.41.

By enrolling in home education, the parent/guardian assumes all educational responsibilities regardless of the mechanism used to educate their child. This includes curriculum, books, technology and/or virtual program(s).

Parents/Guardians may want their child to be affiliated with a school or agency that issues grades, credits and diplomas. Students enrolled in Home Education do not receive a high school diploma or certificate of completion FOR ANY GRADE from our office.

Our office does not have staff that provides academic advisement (i.e. school counselors). Parents could utilize the district’s Student Progression Plan to assist with academic decision making options.
