Media Specialists' Mission
The mission of the library media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information. This mission is accomplished:
- By providing intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats
- By providing instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas; and
- By working with educators to design learning strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
Ultimately, information literate people are those who have learned how to learn. They know how to learn because they know how knowledge is organized, how to find information, and how to use information in such a way that others can learn from them. They are people prepared for lifelong learning, because they can always find the information needed for any task or decision at hand.
