SUMMER VPK 21-22 on-line application IS OPEN!!!

Lake County Public Schools is excited to announce that the Summer 21-22 VPK On-Line Application Process IS OPEN!!!!

IF YOUR STUDENT DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN A VPK PROGRAM DURING THE 21-22 SCHOOL YEAR, THEY ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN SUMMER VPK 21-22.

  • Your child must have turned 4 (four) years old either on or before September 1, 2021
  • Your student must have either not have used the voucher at all or have not used more than 53 hours during the 2021-2022 school year.

Lake County Summer 21-22 VPK Registration Timeline

Step 1.  SUMMER 21-22 VPK APPLICATION:  Parents/Legal Guardians will click on the link above, complete all of the questions on the application and then submit.       

Step 2.a.  CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY APPLICATION:  These certificates are issued on-line only through the Division of Early Learning.  Parents/Legal Guardians are required to turn in their signed Certificate of Eligibility (i.e. the voucher) before the start of the summer program on June 2.  If you need assistance in applying for the voucher, please contact the Early Learning Coalition of Lake County at (352) 435-0566 or if you do not need assistance, please visit the Division of Early Learning website.   Please see the Certificate of Eligibility application process flow chart should you need step-by-step instructions.

Step 2.b.  SUBMIT SIGNED CERTIFICATE OF ELIGIBILITY:  Email the SIGNED Summer VPK Certificate of Eligibility to Danielle Jarrett in the VPK Office at jarrettd@lake.k12.fl.us.

Step 3.  REGISTER YOUR STUDENT FOR KINDERGARTEN:  Your student MUST be registered for Kindergarten BEFORE they will be able to start the program on June 2.  If you are unsure of the process, please contact the school where you student will be attending Kindergarten.**

Please visit "What documentation do I need to register with the school?" should you be uncertain regarding the required paperwork.   Again, your child will NOT be allowed to start the Summer 21-22 VPK Program without being registered in a Kindergarten Program. 

**If your student will be attending a private school for Kindergarten, you will need to contact the summer school site directly so they can temporarily register your student while they attend our summer VPK program.

Step 4.  PLACEMENT NOTIFICATION:  An email will be sent to the email address provided on the Summer 21-22 VPK Application confirming the placement of your student in Summer VPK.  Also included in the email will be information regarding the start date, orientation details and class hours.  If you do not provide a valid email address, a letter will be mailed to your home address instead.

Step 5.  MANDATORY PARENT MEETING:  You must attend the orientation meeting.  The details will be provided in the placement notification email.

  • Lost Lake Elementary
  • Sorrento Elementary ***

**Enrollment has reached capacity, we are no longer placing students at this location.  A waiting list has been set up for this site.

***As of May 31, we have two slots remaining at this location.  Once they are filled, you will either need to apply for Lost Lake or get on the waiting list.
