Assistant Principal Shannon Sapp
Shannon Sapp was born in Leesburg, Florida. She is a product of the Lake County School system attending Treadway Elementary, Tavares Middle, and Tavares High School. After graduating high school, she attended Lake Sumter State College then moved on to the University of Florida (Go Gators!). She has a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from St. Leo University and attended the University of West Alabama to study School Counseling.
After teaching a few years at a private school, she started her career with the Lake County School system in 1995 at Fruitland Park Elementary as a physical education teacher. In 2004, she moved to the county office for the position of Program Specialist in the Adult, Career, and Community Education department. She was the coordinator of the 21st Century Community Learning Center $3+ million grant program. She also served as the Tech Prep Program Specialist to form partnerships between secondary schools and community colleges. In 2008, she became a member of Raider Nation here at Carver Middle serving as a School Counselor and Potential Specialist.
This will be Mrs. Sapp’s 26th year in education and her 10th year at Carver Middle School. She believes that when the school, students, parents, and the community come together for a common goal of providing the best possible education for our students, then we will all benefit from these efforts both now and in the future. She is so proud to work in the county where she was born and raised and takes the opportunity to serve this community with pride and devotion.
