    Dear Students and Families,

Welcome to Minneola Charter; it is my pleasure to introduce myself to all of you.  While this is my sixth year as a Mustang, it is my nineteenth year as a highly qualified teacher; additionally, I have been qualified as a highly effective teacher the past three years.

I graduated from Shenandoah University in 2000 with a BA in Psychology and Certificate Degree in Elementary Education.  While in college, I studied early childhood development and took many theatre courses.  Throughout my career as an educator, I have taught many different grade levels and subject areas.  I have many professional experiences directing children's theatre and developing theatre programs in elementary schools. This has enabled me to be a well rounded and knowledgable teacher and director.  My educational philosophy is that all children will achieve with a nurturing and educationally rich environment.  My goal every year is that each child in my classroom will make at least a year's growth no matter where their learning journey begins. I am honored and thrilled to be your child's teacher.

My family and I moved to Clermont from New Jersey in July 2010 and have been enjoying the warmer climate.   Outside of school, I have many interests as well.  I love baking and going to movies with my family.  I have a 14 year old son who will begin tenth grade this school year.  Our family also loves theatre.  We spend a lot of our free time rehearsing, performing, or watching various shows in the community.   This summer I saw Addams Family for the first time.  It was a great commedy with an excellent message about staying true to yourself and believing in your family.

It is a dream come true to have the pportunity to teach theatre in the middle school. Theatre has been a passion of mine since I was a young child and I am thrilled to be a part of that journey for our Minneola Thespians.  I know that this year will be a memorable experience for all of us.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Dierking
