Treadway's Guidance CounselorsWelcome to Guidance!Elementary school is a time when students begin to develop their academic self-concept, the value of responsibility, and cooperation. In addition they learn about respect, making friends and the importance of developing feelings of competence and confidence as learners.Treadway school counseling program is dedicated to enhancing student achievement by focusing on essential skills such as self understanding, communication, decision making skills and goal setting. These goals are accomplished in a variety of methods including classroom guidance related to study skills, test taking strategies, bully prevention and responsibility.Mrs. Osbun-Rapp is the guidance counselor for grades K, 2 and 4. Mrs. New is the school counselor for grades 1, 3 and 5. Mrs. Osbun-Rapp and Mrs. New collaborate with teachers, parents, administration, school social worker, school psychologist and other service providers to meet the needs of the students. They will stay with your child as he moves through grade levels.Both counselors support a student mentoring program called Bear Buddies. This pairs various students with faculty and staff to offer extra encouragement in areas of academics, behavior and attendance.
