Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!!!
Professional/ Educational:  I was raised in Lake County and graduated from Mt. Dora Bible in 1988.  I graduated from LSCC with an AS degree in Criminal Justice and an AA degree.  While in college I worked at the Golden Triangle YMCA. I obtained a BS in Legal Studies with a minor in Criminal Justice from UCF.  I spent 6 years as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the State of Florida in both Polk and Lake counties.  Following the birth of my son I took a couple of years off.  I was hired at Carver Middle in Dec. 2005 as the In-School Suspension teacher, and in December of 2007 I began teaching 6th grade Language Arts.  I have never had a job or career that did not involve working with children.
Personal:  I have 2 children of my own, a son age 12 and a daughter age 10.   I am a member and volunteer for Texas EquuSearch. I have dedicated many hours searching for and trying to reunite missing people and their families.
I taught 6th grade for six years before moving to 7th grad. I love teaching middle school, and I feel it is a make it or break it point for students.  I believe the experiences they have upon entering middle school can set the course for the rest of their academic career.
