Mrs. Fiske

I have been a science teacher at Gray middle school for 9 years.  I have taught all three grade levels.  I enjoy each science subject however I have found 8th grade science year to be especially exciting.  Not only are we learning a new science subject during the year but we have the unique opportunity to revisit Earth/Space and Life science when we begin to prepare for the Science FCAT.
I am busy at school as well as at home.  I have a wonderful husband (Kyle) and two athletic, scholastic and social children, Jesse (Senior at Lake Minneola) and Kaitlin (Freshman at Lake Minneola).  When I'm not teaching or doing "mothering" activities, I enjoy reading, gardening and watching old Fred Astaire movies.

I want your child to have a successful year and accomplish their goals in science class.  I will assist my students in the classroom by providing guidance and encouragement.  I plan on incorporating BYOD as much as possible.  I will assign homework that will be delivered via electronic devise for grading and feedback.  Please make sure that you and or student communicates to me if there is a problem regarding devise availability.
I welcome all forms of communication however I believe that email is the fastest more convenient method.  (Regarding behavior issues or discipline activity, if you would rather not have this communicated via email, please let me know.  I will speak with parent or guardian on the phone using the provided phone number within 24 hours of occurrence)   If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me at:

Please check your Childs agenda daily.  The agendas are checked each Monday for parent signatures. The agenda is an excellent source for communication
 between parent, teacher and student.
