  • Celebratory Best Practices

Reward is very important aspect in the learning unit as an encouragement statement. So, how do we motivate students to improve their performance?  I try to establish clear and specific learning goals each day.

This will allow students to set small achievable goals for improvement, which they may monitor it with some kind of visual tracking - a graph, a chart, etc.  I acknowledge a student's efforts and achievements and provide them with timely and effective feedback.

Most importantly, I push the students to never give up.  I believe that all of my students have the ability to learn and I make sure that they know I truly believe in each of them and their abilities

    Instructional Best Practices

My dreams of being a teacher began when I was young. I was inspired by my teachers and felt like I wanted to also make a difference in life. As a teacher I would like to share the passion of learning to my students and push them to follow their aspirations in life. I would like to encourage my students in learning and find their strengths in education. Mathematics is a primary subject that can be the most challenging for the children and their success in the future.

Most students enter the class with many misconceptions of math. Therefore, I plan to teach students in high school because I want to be the teacher that changes their outlook in learning mathematics. I want to provide them an insightful interface regarding the importance of understanding mathematics and how it relates to everyday life. My ideal classroom begins with a welcoming atmosphere that inspires students’ willingness to want to gain new knowledge.

As their teacher, I plan to guide them through the process of learning and reasoning that is needed to problem solve. I cater to students different learning styles and focus on strengthen their shortcomings. Consequently, my main objective is to have students leave my class with more confidence about learning mathematics. My ultimate goal is to encourage students that there is nothing in life they cannot accomplish as long as they have the will to strive for it they will achieve it. Education holds the key to every child’s future; it all depends on how as an educator I can show them to use the key to open the door for success.

Therefore, I believe education is like music, it is a very vital instrument for students and I as a teacher will guide them through the music so that the students are playing the notes correctly. As I show them the rhythms they will be musically attentive to the understanding of the material. On the other hand, if they are off by a key it can cripple their understanding to the beauty of knowledge. Therefore, as an educator I would strum out the beat so the students can sing along.

    Inspirational Quote

“The power of can’t: The word ‘can’t’ makes strong people weak, blinds people who can see, saddens happy people, turns brave people into cowards, robs a genius of their brilliance, causes rich people to think poorly, and limits the achievements of that great person living inside us all.” - Robert T. Kiyosaki
