OUR HISTORYFruitland Park Elementary School is a small community school of approximately 750 students. Nestled in the middle of "Hometown USA", we serve a diverse population from the surrounding cities of Leesburg, Lady Lake and Fruitland Park itself.The building was originally built in 1962 with a new wing and media center added in 1983. In August of 2004, we received another new wing of classrooms that include special computer and music suites.

Principal, Tammy Langley, came to Fruitland Park Elementary in 2015. She has many experiences in the school system including elementary school teacher, Assistant Principal in middle school and Principal at FPE.Our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Diane Reid-Goolsby, has 25 years of professional experience as a teacher and administrator. She has worked in elementary and middle schools. She has a BS in Early Education from UCF and a Masters degree in Education Leadership and Administration from National Louis University.The demographics of the faculty is 94% Caucasian, 2% Indian/Mixed, and 2% Hispanic. 31% have Master's degrees and 47% have 10 or more years experience.There are at least four computers in every classroom and we have two full computer labs for remediation and enhancement. We have a VoIP switching telephone system and a fiber backbone with speeds of 100 mbps to each desktop. Our operating system is mostly Windows XP Pro.This past year, Fruitland Park earned a grade of "C" on the Florida A-Plus plan but failed to meet AYP.Fruitland Park Elementary is very fortunate to have a number of wonderful business partners including Chick-fil-A, Wal-Mart, The City of Fruitland Park, The Lady Lake Rotary Club, The Kiwanis Club, The Rebakahs, The Community United Methodist Church, Heritage Community Church, New Life Church, Eagles' Nest Baptist Church and many more listed on our Community Partners page. These partners supply gifts of money, materials, tutors, mentors, and volunteers.
