•  Welcome

    Welcome Back F.P.E. Family,

We are off to a great start to the  school year!  Our teachers returned ready to engage our students in rigorous  instruction and our students returned ready to learn.  What more could we ask for?

Each month we will highlight new strategies that we are using to support and expand our students academic proficiency. This month I wanted to highlight our focus on increasing our students’ reading proficiency through our Reading Ignited Program.  For the first 30 minutes of  the day students in grades 2nd—5th will engage in Literacy activities such as novel studies,  fluency practice, vocabulary studies and so much more!  They will have an opportunity to earn AR points during this time as well.  Our Kindergarten and 1st grade students will have their Reading Ignited time later on during the day.  All of this is in addition to the great things that are being taught within the daily Reading Block.  Your support in encouraging your child to read is greatly appreciated.

Nothing is more powerful in education than a team of individuals working together to support the education of our children.  With that said, I would like to announce that we will begin our BRIDGE Program for parents and guardians next month.  This program is designed to bridge the gaps between home and school so that all team members are well informed.  We will provide informational sessions for parents and guardians during the course of the day on important topics as it relates to student learning, community programs, behavioral interventions and much much more.   These sessions will be held once monthly here at Fruitland Park Elementary.  We look forward to connecting with you and providing you with the tools you need to assist us in educating your child.

This is going to be an epic year and I’m so glad you and your family are here to share it with us.

    Sincerely,
