•  Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    1.  If my child is sick do I need to call into the office to let them know?
We love it when parents call us and let us know. However, it is most important that a written note accompany the child back to school. The note should have the student name, dated, signed and have specifics as to why the child was out.  **If we do not receive a note, it will be considered an unexcused absence

2 Can the children bring in birthday treats to celebrate their birthday?
Ummm, yummy!   We just ask that you contact the teacher ahead of time so he/she can plan his/her day.

    3.  Can I send birthday invites to be handed out at school?
Yes, although to be fair, we ask that you send invites in ONLY if you are inviting ALL the children in the class. If that is the case then they should be given to the teacher at the beginning of the day so that the invitations are not disruptive during the day

    4.  If my child brings his/her own lunch and buys a milk, how should he/she bring in their money?
Cash is fine, but you can go to www.myschoolbucks.com to pay on-line

    5. If I come and eat lunch with my child where can I eat and can I bring in fast food?
Yes, but only those that are on your child's emergency contact list are allowed to eat with you. IDs must be shown at the time you check in at the front office. We ask that all parents eat out on the picnic tables only.  We are unable to allow visitors to eat in the cafeteria at any time for any reason.  We do not mind you bringing in fast food, but please do not share it with other students.

*Students may only eat with their class group when the teacher is in attendance, a family member, or anyone on their emergency contact sheet.  (parents, brother/sister, aunt/uncle, grandparents)

NO, we ask that you do not send in bottles or cans of soda for your child's lunch drink.

    7. Can I eat lunch with my child every day if I wanted to?
Sure.  However, lunch time is one of the few times for your child to socialize with their peers and classmates.

    8. What happens if my child forgets his/her lunch box or lunch money?
Again, we encourage you to use the www.myschoolbucks.com.  They will be given a cheese sandwich and milk until money has been deposited into their lunch account.

    9. How should I get in contact with my child’s teacher?
Every teacher has email and their address can be found on their website class page.  Or you can contact the office and leave a message.

    10.  When does the PTO meet?
The PTO meets on 2nd Monday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Media Center.  We encourage all parents to attend!   They discuss where fundraiser money is being used and they make decisions on what parents need/want re: PTO resources.

    11.  What do I do if our family is going on vacation during school time?
Please make plans so this does not happen.  However, if you know in advance that your child is going to miss school for any reason, please pick up a Pre-arranged Form from the front office.  This sill be your only chance to have the dates excused.  This must be done at least 2 weeks in advance.
