    Celebratory Best Practice

One thing that I do at the beginning of every year is have the students create their own motto of education—one that sums up their goals and ideals.  This gives them a tailor-made guide through the challenges of school and provides them with their answer to the question, “Why should I do this?”  Examples of their mottos are.

“Dreams don’t work unless you do.”

    “No study—No money.”

“Someone can take anything from you, but they can never take away your knowledge.”

    Instructional Best Practice

Everyone needs to be encouraged.  I make it a practice to encourage students for trying, improving, sharing insights, collaborating, going outside their comfort zone, being a positive role model, doing their very best and so much more. Once students know that I believe in them, we can work on learning and advancing their skills in the class. The red pen is necessary for improvement.  It identifies mistakes that must be corrected. But to make those corrections, the spirit must be motivated to take the challenge.  I know that All Students Can Learn, and I make it my goal to help them see that in themselves
