New Hire Onboarding Process - Welcome to Lake County Schools

New Employee Orientation is required for all Lake County Schools employees. Orientation will last approximately 3-4 hours and is held virtually through Zoom. An HR Specialist will contact you via email to schedule an orientation session.

Drug Testing Information

Lake County Schools requires a pre-employment urine drug screening in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

The pre-employment urine drug screening fee is $20.00.

You must receive a Drug Testing Notification Form from HR before you can complete drug screening at one of our approved sites. You will receive more information from your HR Specialist via email once hired.

Fingerprinting Information

The Lake County School District requires fingerprint screening according to State and Federal Guidelines. All Employees, must be fingerprinted at the District Office. Interns and Volunteers may be fingerprinted at the District Office or at an approved fingerprinting site.

Employees and Interns are required to register for fingerprinting and pay a fee of $73.25 online by credit/debit card. You will receive more information from your HR Specialist via email once hired.

Important Information: If the person registering for fingerprinting enters their Social Security Number or Date of Birth in error, the person will be responsible for the additional cost of a reprint.

**FOR EMPLOYMENT APPLICANTS ONLY**Steps to complete fingerprint registration:

Human Resources will contact the applicant via email with the information to fingerprint appointment and to provide the FieldPrint fingerprint code. Applicants CANNOT register for fingerprinting without a scheduled appointment and fingerprint code.
(Same day appointments and walk-ins may not be permitted)
Two forms of ID are required at the time of fingerprinting:
- A.) Acceptable Primary IDs include:
  - State-Issued Driver’s License
  - State-Issued Non-Driver’s License ID Card
  - US Passport ·Military Identification Card
  - Work Visa with Photo
- B.) Acceptable Secondary IDs include:
  - Credit/Debit Card Bank Statement
  - Electric Bill
  - Birth Certificate
  - Citizenship or Naturalization Certificate

Once you have registered for fingerprints, print out the registration confirmation and bring with you to your appointment. This will be found on the last page of registration. If you do not have a printer, write down your registration number to bring with you the day of your fingerprint appointment.
