Florida Diagnostic & Learning Resources System (FDLRS)

The Florida Diagnostic and Learning Resources System (FDLRS) provides diagnostic and instructional support services to district exceptional student education programs and families of students with exceptionalities statewide. FDLRS supports the Florida DOE priorities and Next Generation Six Areas of Focus; Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services (BEESS) State Performance Plan statewide initiatives; initiatives centered on reading, math, and science; and Just Read, Florida! Initiatives. 

 

Professional Development Alternatives, (PDA) is an initiative of Florida Department of Education Bureau of Exceptional Education and Student Services and is offered free of charge to all Florida educators. There are eight PDA modules designed to provide Florida teachers with widely available, easily accessible, opportunities to increase their skills in working with students with diverse learning needs. The purpose of PDA is to increase teacher knowledge and skills through a "user-friendly" online delivery format. The PDA modules, offered statewide, utilize quality online instruction for self-paced study, ongoing communication with local facilitator support, and classroom-related assessment tasks. Seven of the modules are worth 60 professional development points (or the equivalent of 3 credit hours for those teaching out-of-field), and one module is worth 30 points (Interpersonal Interactions). The Differentiating Reading Instruction module also satisfies competency 4 and 5 of the Florida Reading Endorsement.
