Discipline impacts the entire school environment. Self-disciplined students contribute both to their own learning and to that of others. The Lake County School Board publishes a Code of Student Conduct and Policy Guide (Code) to make students and parents aware of the expectations of the District concerning student conduct as well as many other topics of concern to families. Each year the Code is reviewed and amended to agree with Florida State Statutes and address areas of difficulty that may be negatively affecting the learning environment.
Students are exposed to character development lessons throughout their school career that focus on making good choices in all aspects of life to include dealing with personal feelings, appropriate responses to situations, knowing when it is appropriate to pass-on information to an adult regarding a situation at school, refusal skills for alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
