Today's Choice for Tomorrow's Future

Marc Dodd, District 3

Marc Dodd was elected to the Lake County School Board in November of 2014.

Immediately prior to being elected, he was in his fourth year of teaching at Grassy Lake Elementary School.  As a kindergarten teacher, he loved laying the foundation for students to be successful in Lake County Public Schools, but he also saw a strong need for there to be an educator’s perspective on the School Board.

Before teaching, Marc built a dynamic career with the Walt Disney Company as a manager in park operations at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and Global Park Operations.

Marc graduated from the University of Florida in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science.  He and his wife, Kelly, met at UF and were married in 2004.  They currently reside in Clermont with their four children: Addison, Landon, Keegan, and Bright.

Marc serves as the School Board liaison to the following committees:  Allocations Committee, County-Wide Citizens' Advisory Council, Wellness Committee, Keep Lake Beautiful, South Lake Chamber Education, Four Corners Charter Board, Lake-Sumter Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), and the Lake Parks & Recreation Advisory Board.  He’s the alternate to the following committees: Athletic Committee, Software Committee, and Florida League of Cities.
