Eustis Elementary, Oak Park Middle to receive STEM awards
Eustis Elementary School has been selected to receive an Engineering is Elementary program award and Oak Park Middle School will receive a Lego Robotics EV3 program award, both for the 2018-19 school year.
The awards are being presented by the STEM Alliance of Central Florida, which works in partnership with the Central Florida School Boards Coalition to assemble and provide resources in support of excellence in science, technology, engineering and math education.
The Eustis Elementary award consist of five units of Engineering is Elementary course materials. The units will be chosen through a collaboration between the district and the experts at the Orlando Science Center from the 20 available topics in Life Science, Earth & Space Science, and Physical Science. Each unit comes with 24 books, a teachers guide, four material kids, and training for up to five teachers coordinated through the Orlando Science Center.
The Oak Park Award consists of 12 Lego EV3 core sets, Lego EV3 software site license, and Design Engineering Projects teaching guide to provide additional activities. There is also a possibility of the school receiving 10 computers as part of the award as well.
