Students urged to report threats, crimes and other unsafe behavior
Lake County Schools and the SpeakOut Hotline want every student to know that telling isn't "snitching." Telling is providing information to keep yourself or someone you know safe from threats, harmful behaviors or dangerous situations, and it's the right thing to do.
Students have several options for reporting anonymously:
Call SpeakOut at 1-800-423-TIPS from anywhere, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The call is free.
Go to www.speakouthotline.org and leave a tip online.
Text "SPEAKOUT" plus your tip information to CRIMES (274637).
Download the free P3 Campus app and submit a report.
SpeakOut tipsters who provide information concerning student or campus safety that leads to a successful resolution may be eligible for a cash reward.
SpeakOut and P3 Campus welcomes tips on bullying, drugs, weapons, mental health crises, threats to students or campuses and well as any other criminal act.
Students are always encouraged to share their concerns with parents, school officials or law enforcements. However, if they don't feel that is possible, we urge them to report unsafe situations to SpeakOout.
