Scholarship available to high school seniors who want to become teachers

The Florida Retired Educators Foundation awards scholarships to graduating seniors who want to become teachers. Applications are submitted to the local Scholarship Chairs, and then forwarded to FREF for evaluation. Winners are selected in March with funding that begins in time for the fall term of college. The scholarship pays $3,250 over a four-year period: $500 in year one, $750 in year two, $1,000 in year three and $1,000 in year four.

Qualified applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1,000 or a minimum ACT score of 22. Other details are included on the attached application, which must be sent to the address listed on the last page no later than Dec. 11.
