East Ridge High TV production students win varsity reporter competition for fifth consecutive year

We are excited to announce that for the fifth year in a row, the East Ridge High School Television Production Academy has won the Bright House Sports Network Fall Varsity Reporter Competition!

The competition focuses on how students and student athletes are making a difference in their communities. Schools were invited to submit a 2- to 3-minute spotlight package detailing how student athletes of school athletic programs are making a difference by raising funds, awareness, or volunteering for social issues that are important in their school or community. The videos were posted on the Bright House web site and voted on during a two-week period.

East Ridge television production students contributed weekly video stories to the network website featuring East Ridge Athletics. The winning video featured athletes Jalen Lozano and Damian Santucci and their family struggles with breast cancer. See the video here.

“Each year, your continued dedication and participation helps to improve the growth of the Varsity Reporter program, ” Julian Dunham of Bright House Sports Network said of East Ridge TV. “We truly value our continued partnership with your school and the ability for BHSN to provide new experiences and information to you and your students.”

Congratulations, East Ridge!
