Soil and Water Conservation District offers scholarship
The Lake Soil and Water Conservation District will award the Frank Paulhamus Scholarship, worth $500, to a high school senior residing in Lake County who:
Majors in an agricultural field such as agricultural education, agricultural economics, agricultural engineering, agronomy, forestry, horticulture, soils or wildlife management at a college, university or trade school.
Or starts a business in an agricultural field.
The recipient must demonstrate ability, knowledge and need in the application. If the recipient changes his or her career field, the check will be given to the 2nd place applicant if he or she is still in compliance with the guidelines.
Those interested in applying for this scholarship must fill out an application, which can be found on the website at http://www.lakecountyfl.gov/lswcd, or call the office at 352-253-1646 to receive a copy. The application deadline is April 12, 2016, and must be received in the Educational Foundation Office at 2045 Pruitt Street, Leesburg FL 34748 by 3 p.m.
The Lake Soil and Water Conservation District established the scholarship in recognition of Fran Paulhamus’ 36 years of service with the Conservation District and his dedication to Lake County.
