Mount Dora schools, Eustis High plan community showcase events
Schools in Mount Dora and Eustis have scheduled community showcase events to highlight course offerings and thank supporters.
Schools in the Mount Dora High feeder pattern -- Triangle Elementary, Sorrento Elementary, Round Lake Elementary, Mount Dora Middle and Mount Dora High schools -- will gather at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at Mount Dora Middle School, 1405 Lincoln Avenue for their showcase. From the arts, to ROTC and STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), visitors can discover what's being offered in the city's schools and learn more about community partners who support the schools.
Similarly, Eustis High School will host a Panther Preview and Showcase at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at the main campus, 1300 E. Washington Ave. The program begins in the auditorium and is designed to help provide next year's freshmen and any students new to EHS with a sneak peek at high school life with an emphasis on scheduling classes, graduation requirements, courses offered at the school and an opportunity to meet teachers. In addition, the Eustis High School showcase will include an exhibition of all fine arts, career and technical programs, athletic and extra-curricular opportunities available to EHS students.
Both events will feature displays and representatives who can answer visitors' questions.
