Share your views on the search for a new superintendent
The second of three Town Hall Meetings drew parents, educators and community residents to East Ridge High School on Tuesday night to discuss the search for a new district superintendent.
Superintendent Susan Moxley's contract expires in June 2017, and she recently suggested the Lake County School Board begin the search for the district's next leader.
Participants spoke of a desire for someone who can run the district like a business, understands that college prep and career education are equally important, and has experience working positively with diversity. Other comments supported a champion for public education, a team builder, a record of improving their current district, and someone who will "dig in" to Lake County and make it his or her home.
What about you?
The last Town Hall meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Leesburg High School. Come out and make your voice heard.
Also, please remember to take the online survey. It’s posted on the district’s website – https://www.lake.k12.fl.us — under the “Superintendent Search” tab in the middle of the home page.
