Clermont students name city’s recycling mascot

The City of Clermont recently launched an initiative to raise awareness about the importance of recycling. As part of that program, the city held a contest among the Clermont elementary schools to have students name the mascot for the program. More than 1,800 students participated! Two students chose the winning name: Eco (as in eco-friendly). The students, Abigail Miller, a fourth-grader from Lost Lake Elementary School (pictured with her principal on the right) and Jessenia Rodriguez, a fourth-grader from Imagine South Lake (pictured with her principal on the left) were presented their framed artwork and allowed to put a name tag on Eco. Congratulations, Abigail and Jessenia!
