District thanks administrators, staff for storm management, support

Lake County Schools thanks all administrators and district staff who helped prepare and manage nine storm shelters in our schools before, during and after Hurricane Matthew. They took a comprehensive process and made it run as smoothly as possible. They were taken away from their personal family responsibilities to respond to this community need, and they did an outstanding job. The selfless commitment they displayed is one of the many things that makes Lake County Schools great.

In the nine shelters, we served 779 general population guests, 63 special needs guests and 30 animals.

At this time, we expect to resume normal operations at our schools on Monday as planned.
