Leesburg FFA team wins gold in national competition

The Leesburg FFA Farm Management team placed 10th in the National FFA Farm Business Management Career Development Event (CDE) students learned last week. The event was held in conjunction with the 89th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis.a National Competition last week in Indianapolis. 

The CDE is designed to test the ability of students to apply economic principles and concepts in analyzing farm and ranch business management decisions. Participants respond to questions concerning economic principles in farm business management as well as a problem-solving analysis section. Each team in the event has competed with other chapters in their state for the privilege of participating in the national event. 
 
Over 3,200 teams began the competition last January. Winning Leesburg team members are Garrett MacGregor, Caleb Clayton, Zach Robinson and Kassidy McGraw.  They won the state championship in April before advancing to the national level.  They are the first team in the history of Leesburg FFA (Chartered in the 1930’s) to win a gold award at national competition.
