School Board to discuss recommendations for Superintendent position

A special School Board meeting has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, for a discussion of candidates brought forward by an advisory committee as part of the search for a new leader for the district. Superintendent Susan Moxley's contract expires next year and she suggested months ago that the board begin the search for her replacement.

The Superintendent Search Advisory Committee met Nov. 28 and offered a list of five recommended finalists. They are:
  • Arthur "Rob" Anderson, Ed.D., Deputy Superintendent of Academics at Fulton County Schools in Georgia
  • Diane Kornegay, Deputy Superintendent at the School District of Clay County in Florida
  • Mark Mullins, Ed.D., Deputy Superintendent / Chief Operating Officer at Brevard County Public Schools in Florida
  • Quintin Shepherd, Ph.D., Superintendent of Linn-Mar Community School District in Iowa
  • Gerald "Jerry" Wilson, Ph.D., Superintendent of Worcester County Public Schools in Maryland
The board is expected to review the recommendations, develop candidate interview questions, update the timeline and schedule interview meetings.

The meeting will be held in the district office board room, 201 W. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares FL.
