    The school district is the largest employer in the county with 5,500+ full-time and part-time employees (As of February 2016).


    Educational Foundation of Lake County operates for the benefit of students and teachers in Lake County Public Schools (LCS). The foundation  programs include: Grants for Great Ideas, Back to School Backpack Fairs, Take Stock In Children, Teacher of the Year, Rookie Teacher of the Year, Employee and Volunteer of the Year, New Beginnings, and the LCS Science Fair. The foundation holds fundraisers that include: Renaissance Faire, Annual Golf Tournament, Ladies Fore Education, and Duck Race. We are the recipient of the State of Florida License Tags Revenue Program and the School District Education Foundation Matching Grant Program.

    School Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Monday each month at 6pm. at the Commission Chambers of the Lake County Administration Building, 315 W. Main St., Tavares.

    Workshops are held in the Board Room of the Lake County School District, 201 W. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL.
