• After School Clubs for Kids 
    Cypress Ridge, along with community groups, offers a variety of enrichment activities after school.  
    Several Clubs are NEW this year, 2018-19.

    National Elementary Honor Society

    National Elementary Honor Society is an academic club that will be offered for fourth and fifth grade students. National Honor Society will be based on grade criteria set forth by NEHS and teacher recommendation. This club will begin November 1st after the first grading period.     Karate Club is offered on Fridays from 3:00-4:30.  Contact 352-393-6520 for more information.


    Mrs. Peggy Martinez will be teaching Spanish to interested students. Grades K-2 will meet on Tuesdays and 3-5 on Thursdays.  Each lesson is from 3:25 to 4:15.

    Tuition will be $40 per every four classes.

    LEGO Club

    Mrs. Hackett and Ms. Fulton are the leaders.

     Drama Club Drama Club meets on Monday from 3 - 4. There is a fee. Contact the office for more information.
     Dance and Tumbling

     Girls on the Run Girls on the Run will meet Tuesday and Thursday after school from 3:30-4:45, for ten weeks from September  - November. Girls on the Run lessons encourage positive emotional, social, mental and physical development.  The Club will conclude with a 5K run in November. Mrs. Rayburn and Mrs. Rozar are the coaches/leaders.  Girls on the Run is for girls in grades 3-5.
    Tri-City Dance Twirlers

     Garden Club Garden CLub will work on campus beautification and learning about gardening. Mr. Blackburn is the leader. The club will be meeting beginning in October.
    STEM Club 

    In Robotics your child will learn how to build machine with programmable, movable parts. Robotics Club meets after school There are two different Robotics programs at Cypress Ridge. 

    ·      The 2nd and 3rd grade LEGO club costs $25.00.  The club meets for 8 weeks.  Club size is limited to 18 students but there are enough clubs throughout the year that everyone who is interested will be accepted.  LEGO CLub meets on Tuesday afternoon. 

    ·     The 4th and 5th grade club costs $100.00 This is a competition team that is chosen based on several criteria including computer aptitude, teamwork, leadership, creativity, and teacher recommendation.  

          Mrs. Schoenthaler, Ms. Swackhammer, and Ms. Martin are coaches/leaders. Robotics Club meets after school on Thursday. 

    STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Club is for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who like solving multi-step word problems, designing structures to solve an engineering challenge, and thinking critically about all strands of science while working cooperatively in small groups. STEM meets from 3:15 – 4:00 on Tuesday afternoon from January – April.  There is a $25 fee for the club.  Following our School STEM Bowl in March, three teams are chosen to complete with other elementary schools in the Lake County STEM Bowl.
