State requests public input on Florida Standards for education

The Florida Department of Education is seeking public input on the Florida Standards as currently Education Computer Key adopted. The Florida Standards are a revision of Common Core academic standards that were previously in use. This feedback is critical to the revision process Gov. Ron DeSantis has requested through Executive Order 19-32.

Gov. DeSantis has directed Richard Corcoran, Florida Commissioner of Education, to comprehensively review the academic standards for the students in kindergarten through Grade 12 and provide recommended revisions by Jan. 1, 2020. His goal is to pave the way for Florida’s nearly 2.9 million students to receive a world-class education and prepare for jobs of the future.

Public input is encouraged through the online EdCredible platform accessible at www.floridastandardsreview.org. Stakeholders are required to open an account using a valid email address.
