Round Lake Volunteer Guidelines

We welcome any parent, guardian, grandparent, etc. who would like to volunteer.

The safety of our students is of the utmost importance.

All volunteers must be screened and approved prior to working with students. Volunteer applications are on-line at on Volunteer Information & Application in the MOST POPULAR LINKS. Attention:   Effective September 1, 2018 , There will be a $25.00 application fee. All applicants will be screened as a level 2 volunteer unless we are notified otherwise. Once you have completed your application, notify the school coordinator. There are two different levels; Level 1- classroom only with LCS employee supervision or Level 2-classroom, mentors & field trips. Level 2 requires fingerprinting. Inform the coordinator you are requesting a level 2.  This must be approved by school administration.  Screenings are valid for 3 years.

Once you are approved you may assist in a classroom or office area with the teacher or administrators approval.

You will be provided a volunteer name tag which we require whenever you are on campus.  You will also be shown where to sign in and out each time.

Class time is very valuable to our teachers and students.  Always be mindful not to disrupt classrooms.  The following are standard campus policies and procedures to follow:

*     Cell phones should only be used in an emergency

*     Younger siblings should not be in classrooms except special occasions

*     School dress code is required to be followed

*     Appropriate language must be used at all times

*     Exit/Enter classrooms from only their door—do not cross through other rooms

*     Always get the teachers permission before taking students from classroom or lunch room

*     Always check with the teacher before bringing in special treats. There are allergies/special diets to consider.

We hope these guidelines will assist you in feeling comfortable on our campus.  We want your experience with our Round Lake staff and students to be as enriching as it is to us everyday.

If you have any questions, we will be happy to assist you as best we can.
