Next week on Tuesday, March 4th, we will be administering the PSAT 8/9 test for our 8th grade students. Our 6th and 7th grade students will be operating under a regular bell schedule for the day. The PSAT 8/9 is the first test in the SAT Suite of Assessments. Tightly aligned with SAT and PSAT/NMSQT, it establishes a baseline for college and career readiness. The PSAT 8/9 will support all students with early feedback on the skills and knowledge that matter most for college and career success. Please make sure your child charges their Chromebook the night before, gets a good night's sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and please make sure they arrive to school on time to avoid delays and ensure your child starts testing on time. We look forward to seeing them on Tuesday for a successful day of testing.

Eustis Middle School social studies teacher Lori Rowe-Manuel is bringing history to life for students by highlighting the sacrifices made by U.S. military veterans just in time for Veterans Day next month. The school is partnering with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to create a “Field of Flags,” a new service learning opportunity for students. Donations from students, parents and the community will be represented by American flags that will be placed in a field on the school campus by students selected through a Veterans Day essay contest. One flag will be placed in the field for every $5 donated. Each flag will symbolize the sacrifices of a veteran. The flags will be placed during a ceremony on Friday, Dec. 8.The goal is to raise at least $250 by October 28. The money collected will be donated to the DAV to support ill and injured veteran heroes. To contribute to the project, please visit https://support.dav.org/participant/EustisMiddleSchool.
